Important Product Recall

Coopervision Hy-Care multipurpose contact lens solution

We have been advised of a voluntary recall by contact lens solutions manufacturer Coopervision, of Hy-Care multipurpose contact lens solution (60ml, 100ml, 250ml bottles)

The manufacturers quality testing determined that the product may not offer appropriate levels of disinfection in some circumstances against high levels of a particular yeast organism. Although no complaints have received and there have been no confirmed incidents attributed to inadequate disinfection, this action is out of an abundance of caution.

The manufacturer has advised they will shortly be setting up a website where users of the product can go for information on what to do and how to be reimbursed. Please check the Coopervision website for confirmation of when the recall website is live.

However you may find it more convenient to return any supplies of Hy-Care solution to our practice where we will return these for you and issue you with a suitable alternative.

It is very important you continue to clean and disinfect your soft contact lenses but we ask you cease use of any supplies you may have of Hy-Care at soon as possible since we have been advised about the recall.

Please see frequently asked questions for further information or if you would prefer to discuss please contact the practice for further advice.
